Can't complain

I keep living the dream. In the past few weeks I have took in a lot of the kiwi adventure. It helps that I live in the adventure capital of the world. I have completed all of my requirements for my mountaineering course. Learning my knots from a clone hitch, Italian, and the basic knots such as figure 8. I put my knots to practice when I went climbing 3 days last week. Learning how to lead climb lead belay and all about nuts yes nuts not knots and top rope and yada yada if you are not a climber or in some kind of out door crazy recreation you have no idea what I am talking about that is ok. One of the days we went to an area called wye creek. It of course has an above average view. You hike up to the climbing slab and you fill your bottles up out of the creek along the way. It is a short walk when you have Harry a man who I met on my birthday bc he gave us a jump for the car and then randomly bump into him again 3 weeks later to go climb ... Small world and way it's a short walk the hour hike up he played his small guitar ( don't no how to spell uka lay le) and sang songs that we all sung along to as well it was a good time

I also went canyoning where you jump into canyons and go with the river down water falls and the current and such sounds unsafe when I write it but I am still here to write it for you! By the way I highly recommend

I also went paragliding!!!!!!! So I ran off a mountain and then flew it was un real. My favorite part was when my flying partner asked if I want to do crazy and of course ..... Then he made it better then a roller coster. He stalled us and made us spin and go up and down and fast to slow whoop whoop!!!

Went to a little opposite of ugly lake up in a high valley tucked away for the locals to enjoy. It is a warmer lake and more of mn color lake not as blue as the norm here. It was a wonderful day spent swimming and chilling with some roommates. I need to add that I stayed in the water for 15 min and swam. I say this bc the other lakes in Nz you don't want to stay in for more then 5 min at a time. You jump in and swim and jump out heat up and do it again mok lake made me think of brainerd summer minus the scenery hahaha ok the only thing the same was the weather and the lake but yeah.... : D

I worked a fancy wedding ( catering) it showed me how some things are all the same and how some things are so different. Comparing to my dad of course hahahahah. Biggest difference is they had labels on all there boxes and imagine this what was labeled on the box was in the box ( lulu virgie you better read this) it was fun to work and see how things are done here. Also fun to see a Nz wedding to compare that. I will wait tell I know more and see more to sort out the difference. Now I would say pretty similar just a little longer from meal stand point it was a bigger even after the wedding they arrived around 3 and had cocktails and then orderves and then went into the hall and had wine and what not then the starter then speeches then break and went outside and had cocktails then back in and dad spoke then more wine then finally the meal and then more talk time and the finally tea and coffee and ice cream and cake. They didn't start the dance tell 11 oofta !!!!!!

The crown plaza boot camp extended for February so that is cool as well!!
They must think I am an all right trainer : )

Rowdy and rugby

Amp show
I was a rowdy the other day for my roommate mister wonky donkey man. When I say I was a rowdy i mean like I helped him set up for his concerts and helped sell and put it on. I also played the kea and the monkey. Were I dresses up in a full mascot looking bird suit and flapped my wings giving kids high fives. If interested follow the link below to hear the best selling children book in Nz and Australia.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SDeQT9zCvi4
If that doesn't work just YouTube wonky donkey or Craig smith I am certain it will be first one.
Not only did I get to play animals in the show I also got to go see all the animal shows. They had sheep sheering competitions, horse shows, cow, dog, rounding up the sheep with the dogs, and you no more typical fair things like best fruit best dessert yada yada. It was neat I had a lot of fun.

Rugby sevens
The national rugby 7 tournament was held in queenstown. Where you play with 7 on a side and 7 min halfs. It was a typical out of hand sporting event for the fans. Fans brought in there own everything including sofas to watch the game. So basically it was lie one huge tailgate being allowed inside the gates. The games were a ton of fun to watch I all most have all the rules down. I of course now want to play. Looks so fun I bet I would be quite good at it. Unfortunately queenstown doesn't have a womens team yet. For the championship guys game they delivered the ball with someone bungy jumping out of a helicopter. .... My favorite part ... I always need to add so etching inappropriate to my blog post ha.... For the semi finals and championship games of the girls and boys. The boy players that have lost do a undi run during half time. It is hilarious and encouraged in Nz ( what the heck usa why do we not encourage that ha) mean wile all ten guy teams are doing this and the announcer is always saying where are the girl teams. During the last game there was one brave girl who sprinted out and all the boys teams chased her and then they stopped at half way and she shot them all and they all fall to ground and wiggle there feet putting on a show of course and the crowd goes wild due to a girl finally doing the run. Over all great weekend!

Mountaineering

January 5 no big deal
I went on a 3 day hike up the peak called my French In mount aspiring national park.
You start of walking threw a Valley for a few yours where you have to cross fiords and the river. Sometimes you just had to go from rock to rock over fiords. Not always the easiest thing to do with a 30 lb pack and someone telling you to jump and in your head your thinking if I don't make it I will fall backwards into the freezing water, but all the more fun. After the valley you basically climb a tree for an hour. You go from root to root to rock to tree. Then once out of forest you feel the brisk cold wind and your sweating tons but must put on a layer due to wind. Finally reaching the hut for sunset you relax eat and go to sleep to wake for sunrise. Rising for sunrise to see the sunrise and to hike on harder snow before the sun beams on it and makes it harder for you to reach to top. Crossing one crevasse not stopping to look how deep for fear I might fall in and climbing climbing for only 20 seconds. Where you go ice axe foot foot ice axe then crawl over the ridge to see the boner glacier now this glacier is really called boner glacier ha you are in nz they have great names for things. The remarkable mountain range is clearly called that bc they are remarkable now this glacier is probably named for a reason as well. ; ) not only do you see the glacier you also look over a lot of peaks and look dead into mount aspiring the tallest peak in that region. On the ridge I had the pleasure of opening up a wonderful birthday card. After that we carried on to the top of mt French just 30 min farther. Making it to the top was again something I can't explain. It was more then amazing but at same time the feeling of being so small but accomplishing something so big but yet in the world still small. Being I am all ready little short with my "huge vocabulary" explaining this is just something I don't know how to do. I made a snowman at the top before tying in to go down. After the crevasse we untied and slid on are butts down. ... This was to fun I was giggling and acting my age : ) half way down we chilled and relaxed on a rock before heading back to the hut where we relaxed sun bathed ate and then I someone stayed up to see the stars. the way down is always a bit hard on the knees I was happy to see the car but sad to leave the national park. I will never forget my 23 birthday.

New Years I worked as security. It was funny being on the other side of things. I few times I thought wow I hope I don't act like that : ) 2 people were arrested from my gate area. I watched one gal fall right on her face it was not something I needed to see

Between Christmas and New Years I had 2 amazing French couch surfers stay with me. They were in there late 30s and we had a blast together we went to Milford sound where Jurassic park is filmed. we also did 1/3 of the routeborn track. One of the 5 great hikes of nz I have now done parts of 3 and one full one. We also played advanced uno. Love my cards : ) advanced UNO haha yes I no I am suppose to tell you about nz but let me tell you about advanced UNO ok ... Ha so there is interception rule where you can at anytime place the same card down on top of card even when its not your turn also if the color adds to 10 so you can throw down a blue 6 and blue 4 at same time or if someone throws down a blue 6 and you have the blue 4 you can place when ever. It was good fun. They cooked for me there traditional French quiche from there region.

Christmas was Great ate to much food of course won some crackers. ( English tradition)

I have most of these photos on Facebook
